Intro

Café La Terrace is located on the top roof of the Solar Kitchen, Auroville.

It was re-opened on the 9th of September, 2007, after a period of renovation and change of management. The new team is managed in collaboration with the Solar Kitchen and Coffee Ideas! a consultancy firm from Auroville.

Community Entrepreneurship

Café La Terrace aims to be a model of community entrepreneurship . A service for the community run by the community which implies an integral approach to manage a café.

Social Hub

Cafés have been social platforms since centuries where people could gather the collective intelligence of their communities. It can be said that cafes were the first information hubs before the invention of the world wide web. That is why the first internet outlets were located in cafes and this synergy has become rapidly a global trend.

Nutrition

There is a lot of thinking before we design our menus and cook the recipes. The idea is to prepare delicious recipes using quality produce that are not only healthy for our body but to the environment as well while producing them. Special care is taken to outsource products supplied by Auroville farms or other nearby organic sources keeping the food miles as low as possible.
